Hello, we are so happy to meet you and welcome you to our little space on the internet! We are Cory and Whitney, a husband and wife team! We have been refinishing furniture for 16 years ( yes, you read that correctly, and yes, we are older than we look) so, this is nothing new to us!

People often tell us we "were painting furniture before painted furniture was cool" and we were! It is safe to say giving grace by having the faith to bring life back to old, worn, out-of-style furniture is one of our all-time loves! That is right behind our 3 kids and 2 dogs... they are our all-time favorite! We are true artists and paint on nearly anything on almost anything! When we are not refinishing furniture you can find us thrifting, teaching, painting canvas wall art, building/woodworking, or being active in the outdoors! Keep reading to learn a little bit about our story!

In 2018, we were operating a Full Service Art Studio in Lakewood Ranch, Florida where we started incorporating and teaching others what we had already been doing for a long time.. how to paint furniture classes! After a few classes, the phone calls and walk-ins started pouring in asking us to paint and refinish their furniture. At this moment, we knew this was an additional business, so Layers of Grace Designs was born. We moved our Art Studio classes teaching how to paint into a warehouse and also started redoing furniture people would bring to us. We became the best known, high quality refinishers in the area. This allowed us to quickly expand our services and making meaningful partnerships with Interior Designers, Unfinished Furniture Stores, and Country Clubs. We were living in paradise and we had plenty of projects to keep us busy!

In 2023, we felt led to move our company back West and closer to our roots. After researching about a dozen towns and areas that we would like to start the next part of our life, we had a strong feeling from God where we needed to go, even though it didn’t totally make sense, LOL! We opened up shop on the Oklahoma/Texas border and we once again became a much needed service and Resale Shop for people from the Dallas/Ft. Worth Area to Tulsa. Being able to restart and grow our business again in a different part of the country brought on challenges and successes. We made a lot of new friends and partnerships, but we felt another tug from the Big Guy Upstairs bringing us to our next chapter.

Starting in the Fall of 2024, Layers of Grace Designs is moving to the Greater Tulsa Metropolitan Area. We are excited to bring our Renewed Furniture and services to the area, and we have some additional things we are going to be doing…Remember that Art Studio we had, well… we are not opening a studio again, but we are going to be joining the Arts Community in Broken Arrow and Tulsa and restart our Canvas Painting Journey! We have learned that our creativity is the thing we love about ourselves the most and we want to share that with the world as much as our skill of making old things new again.
